the war starts tomorrow

tonight marks the beginning of the constant battle between keeping in shape and eating treats. with all the leftover candy on tap lasting from tomorrow morning until thanksgiving, you will need the exercise outlet to maintain a low- or no-gut condition.

then from thanksgiving to christmas will be leftovers and all the holiday treats popping up on radar. the next few months will be critical.

but don't worry. hoops is there for you. it can be your ally in the war against the gut threat.

from the all the email chatter yesterday and today, it sounds as if there will be a good crew there tomorrow morning. start the war off with an advantage! plus it's loads of fun.

better than four ell

it was reported that on monday only 4L showed up to play. we can do much better than four ell! i want to call ell (kal-el) all of you out there to not let sleep be your kryptonite! don't be weakened by fatigue! i am planning on being there to play. if we could get eight or even ten, that'd be super!

when people ask how many showed up on wednesday, let's them 10L!

since friday is out for us this week, we are playing tomorrow morning in its stead. how crazy is that! very is the right answer.

it's okay, though since we can then sleep in on friday morning...or go to the WAFFLE HOUSE! you'll probably be up as your body is used to a schedule. eat heartily as you have exercised responsibly for the week.

this should be news to your eyes! cold mornings are daunting, but a warm gym is inviting. and you are invited by the gym and by me to come play some basketball.

and speaking of invitations, i still need an rsvp on the thursday morning play proposal. i know trent is, and cary voted a yea. pirate dave was a strong possibility. who else? let me know soon!

so, it now feels like fall. if you had your doubts about which season it was, all that has been removed. but you can come get your warm on by playing a game of hoops. that always works.

also, trent presented a MWR schedule this week. that's monday, wednesday, thursday for those who dont remember college printed class schedules. to make this thursday work, we'll need commitments. who is in for thursday?

changes next week

i just wanted to let you know that the gym will be unavailable again next friday due to another weekend event requiring early set up.

i'm telling you guys this now so that you can plan to be there on monday and wednesday in full force to make up for the missing fridays.

due to an event being hosted at west park this weekend, the gym will unavailable on friday (tomorrow). as such, feel free to sleep in...or GO TO THE WAFFLE HOUSE! it's your choice. i'll leave up to you.

and i need to remind you guys that we are only playing monday and wednesday this week. friday, oct 18, is out for us. that makes it all the more reason to play.

numbers tomorrow?

we've had some lower numbers this week again. maybe friday will be a magical day? all the guys showing up?

i said earlier this week i might try to pay on friday. and the truth is that if i could play, i would only really be able to get in one game since it would be my first day back. so here's the deal: for me to play, we'll really need about 11 guys, one who can sub in for me and then play the other two games.

this won't work if i am one of six and probably won't if there are only eight total. it would be too much for the knee.

those are the conditions. can we get enough to do that?

wow! it was hard being back in the gym again and not playing hoops. i shot a while to remind myself of how much worse it's gotten since i have been away, and i all those basketball feelings came back.

i don't know if my knee is up to it yet, but i am going to think about playing friday.

oh, and i came back to see all the players on monday and only had 4. where are all you guys?!
