During this apocalypse, our times of hoops have been suspended. I hope you are finding alternative solutions to keeping active and in shape. I can attest that it seems to mean extra work if you are accustomed to convenient outlets.

I have had questions of our reopening. At this point, limits to our services remain in effect. I am still uncertain as to when things will be available. Our gym has been used for our Jerusalem Ministry this past season. At some point, resources will be moved out of that space.

I have cleared the calendar for a few weeks going forward and will continue to clear it for accuracy until time to resume.

Honoring the Avoidance

In some weird times in our lives right now, many things have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The WP cancelled services on March 15 to honor the request from our leaders to avoid meeting in efforts to slow/prevent the spreading.

In keeping with that policy, all events at the WP have been cancelled this week. The leaders are asking to not hold any meetings or events for this week. We will not have hoops this week, including Friday.

Stay healthy, wash your hands, and brush your teeth.

Health and Hoops

As scheduled, the gym will be open tomorrow for hoops. I know that all college and professional basketball events have been cancelled in response to COVID-19, and as of now we have not chosen to follow suit.

That said, if you are cautious about things, do not feel pressure to show up in the morning. I personally will not hold it against anyone if the numbers don't show. It's completely understandable.

Also, if you have any form of sickness or think that you might be coming down with something, I encourage to you view it from the perspective of someone else with symptoms real or suspected bringing it to a healthy you, and then act accordingly. That is, consider how you would want someone to showing up to a sweating event with a virus to help decide if you should make the effort. Be wise; be considerate. (This prinicple should always be your guide, pandemic or not.)

I will see you in the morning.

Lighter Days to Come

We lose an hour this weekend. We'll shift our clocks forward to give us seemingly more daylight. I'm not a fan of losing any of my sleep time.

Before we get into this whole time change thing, we'll play some hoops tomorrow morning. You can deal with your clocks on Saturday and sleepy days the rest of the week.

Cold Days of February

We are at the end of February. This last few days have been cold. We still have three weeks left of winter. All we can do is hope for more snow.

Anyway, hoops in the morning. If you are sick, stay home. Don't bring it here

Back Over Here

I know you guys had to switch some gears and go to the Cedar Springs, but it had to happen.

Tomorrow, we are back at The WP, playing hoops like we always do.

Will we have twenty plus again? Place bets now!

No Hoops at The WP Tomorrow

The gym will not be open in the morning for hoops. If you are on the group communication channels, you might inquire about Cedar Springs. I believe the plan is to meet there, but I would suggest verifying that before just showing up. You have been advised.

We'll shoot for next week! Enjoy the Valentine's Day without basketball. Treat your honey the best that you can! She is a blessing from God to you!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

If you haven't been washed away yet, float on down to the gym tomorrow morning for basketball. The court is water free...I think...we hope. We'll see, but I'm pretty sure.

At least we have a roof and walls. And a court. And all the other necessary basketball stuff. We'll only need players, so just, nevermind.

Two weeks in a row with 20 or more players. Let's see if the pattern holds.

Last Day First Month

We are at the end of January. That's one month of 2020 completed. The older I get, these months seem to go by quicker. I also find that injuries happen more often and heal much slower.

No matter! We're playing tomorrow!

Thursday, January 23, 2020

Tomorrow, we play again. We played Monday, and we'll play Friday. If you stacked books between these two mornings, they would be held up securely.

To be clear, do not bring books in the morning. Just bring yourself, awake and ready for some good games.

Who knows? If you guys are legit, there could be some Waffle House after!

Buy One, Get One Free

Congrats! You are eligible for a one time special event to playing not only on Friday but on Monday also. Kick off your MLK Monday by setting the alarm for 5:38 and shuffling to the WP gymnasium to get in just enough time to change shoes and warm up for two minutes!

Some restrictions apply. See site for details. Void where prohibited.

Tomorrow Yes

Don't let anyone tell you that we are not meeting tomorrow for play basketball. It is so absurd!

Of course we're meeting tomorrow to play basketball. It's what we do on Fridays. Most Fridays. A good number of Fridays.

And tomorrow is one of them!

See you in the morning, Adam!

Hoops 2020

We are kicking off the year of 2020 with hoops tomorrow. Last week was so last year. But this week is so this year!

It's time to think about getting in shape for Presidents Day! Get in some court time tomorrow morning.

Welcome to the new year!
